Biography: Copernicus? Born in Torun, February 19, 1473 year in a merchant family of Nicholas and Barbara. According to research on the origin of the family Kopernik, it comes from Silesia. He was a Polish astronomer, mathematician, lawyer, economist and strategist, physician, astrologer, canon of Warmia and Catholic clergy. His most important work is the turnover of Heavenly Spheres (De revolutionibus orbium coelestium), which described the heliocentric vision of the world in sufficient detail to enable it to become a scientifically useful. Based on observations of the sky said, that the earth revolves around the sun. It was a breakthrough discovery for the development of modern science. Previously it was thought that, the other planets orbit a motionless earth.
