I believe that sportspeople who are guilty of dopoing should be banned for life because cheating is not acceptable. You never have a guaranty that they will not want to take the drug and cheat again. Doping is also bad for their health so in my opinion they should learn a lesson and a good idea is to ban them. I think that people not guilty of doping should see that taking this drug can lead to banning so that they will not take this drug. People see up to their idols and can think that it is totally acceptable if you don't ban these people.
