I've chosen one of the most expensive paintings - Portrait of Dr. Gachet. The painting was painted by Vincent van Gogh.

 

In the painting I can see the man, who is leaning his head onto his right arm. He is sitting at the table. There are books and flowers in the vase lying on the table. I can see a worried expression of Dr. Gachet face. I don't know the reason of his thoughtful mood because I don't know the background of creating this portrait. I know that this man was a real person. In the background I can see high hill. I can find that a lot of short white  brush's strokes catch viewer's attention. I can't say something more about style of the painting because I am not fond of art. Green colour outnumber other colours. Green symbolise regeneration of vitality. Maybe, the man just sit to rest for a while.
