Nelson's Column is a monument located in the middle of Trafalgar Square, one of the most characteristic points of London, situated in the heart of the city.
The monument was built between 1840-1843. It is dedicated to Admiral Nelson, who died during a naval battle with the troops of Napoleon at Trafalgar. It was designed byarchitect William Railton, a statue of the hero is the work of Admiral EdwardHodges'a Baily'ego and itself has a height of 5.5 meters. It is set on a granite columnwith a height of 46 meters.
Column base is decorated with statues of lions and four tables with key victories of Admiral Nelson.
