(sama kayak are.. were itu bentuk lampau dari are) Contoh was : He was playing football this afternoon Contoh were : They were here yesterday also

Were digunakan untuk You, They, We. Sedangkan Was digunakan untuk I, She, He, dan It. Keduanya sama-sama bentuk lampau dari be.
contoh kalimat:
I was an Elementary School student. We were Elementary School students.
