jamie is a scottish boy. he lives in a small village on one of the orkney islands in the north of scotland. jamie works with his father. they make clothes from animal skins for the people in the village. jamie likes working with his father but he wants to be a fisherman. he loves the sea. in the summer he swims every day. there are lots of seals in the sea near the village. jamie sometimes dives from the rocks and swims under the water with them. every day jamie and his dad finish work at seven o'clock in the evening. today they are walking home near the sea. in winter the sea is often stormy but now it is spring and the weather is good. a fishing is leaving now and the people in the village are waving goodbye to the fishermen. the people in the village are poor and they need fish to eat and sell. now it is morning. jamie can hear people outside his bedroom window. they are running and screaming. a man is shouting. help help there's a terrible storm.
