was given - ta sama sytuacja jak w przypadku wyżej
gave - "My uncle gave me MP3 player", czyli "mój wyjek dał mi odtwarzacz MP3". Ma sens. Z kolei użycie "was given" znaczyłoby "mój wujek dostał mi MP3 player". Bezsensu.

W kolejnych przykładach jest tak samo. Strony biernej uzywamy, aby mówić o stanie, nie o czynności. Więc "has your mum made any biscuits today" znaczy "czy twoja mama zrobiła dziś jakieś herbatniki?" Użycie strony biernej byłoby tu bez sensu "czy twoja mama została zrbiona dziś jakieś herbatniki?"
Pamiętaj tylko, że w angielskim stronie biernej mogą ulegać czasowniki, które w polskim nie. 2 pierwsze przykłady dobrze to ilustrują. Tak, chodzi o te z "given".
