Utilizamos there are cuando el sujeto es:
Un sustantivo plural:
There are two apples in the basket.
Importante:
Recordad que en inglés los sustantivos irregulares, aunque no lleven la marca “s”, requieren el acuerdo en plural con el verbo to be:
There are a lot of people in the street.
There are twenty children in the class.
La forma negativa de las expresiones existenciales there is / there are se construye con la partícula negativa not:
There is = Hay (singular) - There is a pencil = Hay un lapiz
There are = Hay (plural) - There are lots of toys = Hay muchos juguetes
-Pasado-
There was = Habia (singular) - There was a pencil = Habia un lapiz
There were = Habia (plural) - There were lots of toys = Habia muchos juguetes
there are el es plural de there is o sea
There is a boy in the parc hay un chico en el parque
There are boys in the parc hay chicos en el parque
y para poner había (plural) seria there were es decir el verbo be en pasado
espero que te sirva
