National Contest of Paso Horses: this celebration takes place on the third Sunday of April. The Paso Horse is a Peruvian horse breed that comes from the horses of the Spanish during the Conquest period and the early days of the Colony.

National Marinera Festival: this festival takes place in Trujillo. It is a dance contest called "National Marinera Contest". It is a very elegant dance that is performed in pairs doing characteristic movements with a white scarf. Regarding clothing, the man must wear a poncho and a hat and the woman a regional dress.
