1. Cappuccinos and lattes are one of the most popular beverages around the world. Each is Italian in origin. Both drinks contain espresso and use milk or milk alternative as the second ingredient, but the craftsmanship of the barista leads to two drinks that have distinct tastes, textures, and finishes.
Basically, cappuccino is a coffee made with milk which has been whipped up with forced steam. a cappuccino starts with a bottom layer of one or two shots of espresso. a second layer of 1/3 steamed milk is added on top, followed by a thick and airy layer of 1/3 milk foam to create a luxurious velvety texture. a cappuccino is usually served in a cup that is narrower at the bottom than a latte cup and has a wider rim.

The basic word latte means milk and so when one says 'caffe latte' it simply is asking for a coffee with milk. a latte begins with the same base a single or double shot of espresso. This espresso is then combined with 2/3 of steamed milk to create a rich, creamy beverage that has a more subtle espresso taste. The latte is then topped with a thin layer of foam. It is usually served in a cup that is wider at the bottom and has a narrower rim. Latte cups are shaped more like a bowl which are ideal for making latte art with the milk such as a heart or a tulip.
