There are many famous and interesting places to see in London, but if you want to go shopping and see a bit of London life, these are the places to visit!

Covent Garden is a big square and more than 30 million tourists visit it each year. It's famous for its street performers, shops, bars, restaurants and theatres. The market is in the middle of the square . I'ts got a lot of shops, cafes and an arts and crafts market called the apple market. Outside, you can watch street performers from all over the world.

There are two cheaper, bigger and more famous markets for you to visit in London. One of them is Camden Market. There are lots of different things to buy - from jewellery to food - from nearly every country in the world! It's open every day, but Sunday is still the busiest day. Camden Market is very popular - more than 150,000 people visit it every week.


The other famous market is Portobello Road. Like Camden, it is very popular and many people know it from the film Notting Hill. It sells antiques, fruit and vegetables and second - hand clothes, records and books. It's only open on Saturday, but Portobello Road is always busy and a great place to walk around in the week.
