A lot of us - students have been dreaming about studying abroad. It seems to be more interesting and more entertaining than studying in our own country, but is it really that perfect?
First of all you get to know a new culture, new language, new people. Basically everything is new, which may seem fun, but in fact it is extremely difficult and stressful. Student has to do everything by himself, fill all documents, find a place to live and get used to living there, while starting a new university. And all of this has to be done in foreign, probably unknown language. I can not imagine more stressful situation.
There is also a problem of distance and money. Usually you will have to pay more, while exchange rate is usually unfavorably. To solve that you will have find a job, which can be really hard while not knowing the language,. Otherwise you will have to depend on your parents. Speaking of parents, there is one more disadvantage - homesickness. A huge distance can be hard, and probably you will not be able to afford frequent travelling.
Despite those huge problems it is still a great adventure. When you overcome first problems - find a job, accomodation and friends life is becoming easier and easier. And studying abroad is something you can tell your grandchildren.
In my opinion if you are ready to face those problems, studying abroad is worth a risk. But if you never try, you'll never know.
