To stay *healthy* we need a *balanced* diet, exercise and rest. We need to avoid things like *smooking*, alcohol and drugs, as they damage our bodies in different ways. A healthy *diet* is essential for a healthy body. Food is what gives us *energy* to live our lives. Foods are split into *four* main groups, carbohydrates, *proteins*, fats and vitamins and minerals. *Carbohydrates* gives our bodies energy. They are foods such as pasta, potatoes and *bread*. Proteins help us grow and *repair* cells. They are food such as meat and *fish*. Fats also give us energy. Foot like butter and *cheese* are fats. Vitamins and *minerals* help us stay healthy. We find these in fruits and *vegetables*. Water is also very important for a healthy diet.
