Immediately, everybody went outside to see what fireworks. Imagine how wonderful they were at night. I had never seen such a wonderful fireworks display before. The show was going on for about twenty minutes and we were all amazed-almost speechless. After the show had finished there was a silence for a few minutes and as we were walking back to the cafe we suddenly heard sirens from fire engines. At the moment everything became clear. The only fireworks factory in our city was burning. What a pity I thought. The next day we read in our local newspaper that somebody had set a fire in the factory.
The travellers had been walking for a couple of days before they finally reached a small mountain village. There were only a few people in the village as everybody else had moved to towns long before. Although none of them understood English or Spanish, they greeted their guests warmly. Probably, they hadn’t seen many Europeans before. The villagers invited the unexpected visitors into their huts and while they were having a hot meal, the natives were smiling at them and were telling something in their language. As the travellers were leaving, the villagers were waving them goodbye and even had given them some gifts
