Poin yang perlu ditegaskan dalam transformasi kalimat yang semula sifatnya aktif menjadi pasif:

> obyek yang dikenakan aksi ditaruh di awal kalimat

> sebagai ganti, subyek yang memberlakukan aksi diletakkan setelah verba/kata kerja

> verba/kata kerja wajib diubah ke bentuk past participle (V3)

> tenses perlu dipertahankan originalitasnya dari kalimat awal, jangan dirubah, bila:

- awalnya berupa past simple (yaitu bentuk V2, baik itu past simple/past continuous) -> was/were + V3

misal I: They were eating hamburgers. = Hamburgers were being eaten by them (past continuous).

misal II: We drank a bottle of milk. = A bottle of milk were drunk by us (past simple).

- awalnya berupa infinitive (yaitu bentuk V1/original form, baik itu present simple/present continuous) -> is/am/are + V3
