dalam bahasa iggris TENSES fungsinya untuk menunjukkan suatu tindakan atau kalimat misalnya, lampau, sekarang, akan datang, dan lain lain. adapun 4 jenis tenses yaitu:

simple present tense, biasanya digunakan untuk kebiasaan/kegiatan sehari hari.

rumus:

• (+) S + V1 (es/s)
• (-) S + do (es/s) + not + V1
• (?) do (es) + S + V1

ex:

• i go to school everyday
• she does not go to school everyday
• does he go to school everyday?

simple past tense, digunakan untuk menyatakan masa lampau atau kejadian yang sudah terjadi sebelumnya.

rumus:

ex:

present continious tense, sedang dilakukan/sedang terjadi. pada tenses ini digunakan tambahan -ing, di kata belakang kata kerjanya.
