Pertamina has invited young people to mitigate climate change from an early age through the Independent Energy School (SEB) corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSER) program. This initiative aligns with the government's efforts to address climate change.
Pertamina seeks to support Adiwivata Schools, which are schools that are awarded for promoting environmental awareness and conservation, through the program. The program involves various activities aimed at encouraging the younger generation to be more environmentally conscious. Those activities include planting trees, turning waste into products of value and educating students on clean energy use for environmental innovation at school.
The program also encourages Pertamina Young Officers and Earth's Friends college students to play a role in knowledge campaigning and sharing sessions with students. The hope is that these students will be able to implement Pertamina's Earth's Friends campaigns and actions in the future.
