Raden Ajeng Kartini, is a female hero who raised awareness of women's rights in the age of war. She was born on the 21st of April 1879 in Jepara, Middle Java. She was the 5th child and the second oldest daughter in a noble family of 11. Kartini was allowed to enter and study at school until she was 12. Although the impossible odds, she managed to learn Dutch, a very rare achievement for Javanese woman that time. After she turned 12, she was secluded at home, a common practice among Javanese nobility, to prepare young girls for their marriage, but it didn't stop Kartini To learn more Dutch. She had a friend that's a Dutch and often sent letters to each other. But at the end of the day, Kartini got married to another noble and thankfully, the noble understood his wife and allowed her to open a school for women. Kartini was a feminist, still being awed by her actions even today! One of Indonesia's national hero, Raden Ajeng Kartini.
