W zadaniu należy zapisać zdania w mowie zależnej rozpoczynając od odpowiedniego słowa. Mowy zależnej używamy, kiedy chcemy przekazać czyjąś wypowiedź nie cytując dokładnie tego, co ktoś powiedział, ale przekazując treść tej wypowiedzi. Mamy do czynienia wówczas z następstwem czasów. Stosowanie następstwa czasów polega na COFNIĘCIU czasu użytego w zdaniu podrzędnym.np.:

Jack said "I am handsome."

Jack said he was handsome.

W pierwszym zdaniu w mowie niezależnej przekazujemy to, co powiedział Jack w czasie teraźniejszym. W mowie zależnej musimy "cofnąć" czas - z czasu teraźniejszego (Present Simple) robi się czas przeszły (Past Simple).
