In 2013, more than 600 people applied for a job at a hotel in Helsinki, Finland. It was
a temporary job - the contract was only for 35 days - so why was it so popular?
The hotel was looking for a 'professional sleeper' - someone to test each
of their 35 bedrooms and to blog about staying in the hotel. The only qualification -
apart from the ability to sleep! - was knowledge of Finnish and English, and preferably

If a blogging job sounds good, but a hotel doesn't sound exciting enough, how about

The winner, Ben Southall, was paid a salary of $110,000 to live in
