4 + 2[x – (2 – x ) + 3] = 18

4 + 2 (x - 2 + x + 3) = 18

4 + 2 (2x + 1) = 18

4 + 4x + 2 = 18

6 + 4x = 18

4x = 18 - 6

4x = 12

x=3
