New Snapshot. Pre- Intermediate.

Ex. 1/32. Use the verbs in brackets in the correct tense (past simple or past countinuous) to complete the story.

I (be) was only eight years old at the time. mum and I (walk) were walking through the fields. We (play) .... with a ball. I threw the ball to my mum, but sh(not catch) .... it. It (go) .... into rhe water. As mum (try) ..... to get the ball, the edge of the river bank (give way)..... and she (fall in) .... . My mum can't swim! While she (struggle).... to reach the bank , I (menage) ...... to catch the collar of her jacket and I (pull)..... her towards me. She (reach).... the edge, but a she (climb up) .... the bank, she fell in again. Finally, she (get out) ...... . She was very wet. It was time to go home. We (walk) .......... home when I (start) ...... laughing.

I couldn't stop ! My mum's got a sense of humor, but she (not think)......... it was funny .
