The two main islands are North and South Island. New Zealand is famous for its beautiful coast and mountains. Mount Cook (3754 metres) in the Southern Alps is the highest mountain. 2. New Zealand has over fifty volcanoes, and some are still active. There are also a lot of earthquakes every year and some are very strong. 3 In the seas around the country, you can see whales, seals and dolphins. Nearly all the land animals are birds, and many of them don't live anywhere else in the world. The most famous is the kiwi. This strange bird cannot fly. 4- Summer is from November to March when the weather is warm and sunny. This is the best time to practise outdoor sports like sailing and kayaking, or to go whale watching on a boat. In winter, there is snow and people go skiing.
