The Shrek story started in 1990 with William Steig`s children`s picture book called Shrek! DreamWorks decided to make a film of the book, and in 2001 Shrek was the first animated film to win an Academy Award. Shrek helped to make DreamWorks a strong competitor to Walt Disney. The films are still very popular and now there are Shrek computer games, and even Shrek the Musical. The studio used computers to move the characters in Shrek, but the voices were real. Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz agreed to perform in it, and Mike Myers joined the team to be Shrek`s voice. 1. Storyboard is a series of paintings and sketches, which are guidelines for filming for directors, set designers, cameramen, actors and editors.
2.Rehearsal is very important because it's better to be prepared than not. Every actor needs to practice before the actual pageant so they know where they will stand and what they will say.

I think that there is no just one information that shows that making an animated film is a very slow process. I can imagine that every piece of making such movie is very difficult and it need professionalists. It can be assumed that such work takes a lot of time by the number of people who work on it.
