Tsunami

I was on holidays at the beach in South Africa with my parents. I was having a shower in the hotel, when my mom shouted that there is a big wave coming. I quickly put my blouse on and ran to the window. It was a tsunami. We were at the last floor of the hotel, but I knew that the wave is going to break the building. It was getting closer, I could see the water destroing some buildings closer to the coast, breaking them into half. I couldn't believe my own eyes. My mom laid on the floor, she couldn't watch it. My father ran into the room. "Away from the window", he shouted. I ran up to him. I felt the ground trembling, and suddently I knew the hotel was falling down. We fell on the window, which was now in the place of the floor. The furniture were falling on us, but I avoided it. Suddently, the ground stopped trembling. It was over. I opened the window and saw water under me. Destroyed buildings and people in panic. I had no idea what to do. The helicopters were flying everywhere. My father shouted we were there. I felt shocked, thinking about how lucky I was that I lived on the last floor of the hotel. How lucky I was that I hadn't gone to the beach at that moment. I watched people dying in front of my eyes, but I was too shocked to do anything. I was trembling, my heart was beating faster and faster. I can't remember how I get to the helicopter that took us to another city. I felt so happy that we all survived.
