WROCŁAW ZOO
If you’re looking for a great day out, why not try the zoo in Wrocław? It’s a great place
for the whole family, with something for everyone. If you don’t mind scary animals, try
the snake house, where they have pythons, black mambas and even an anaconda! For
younger kids there is a mini-zoo with some cute, small animals we normally think of as
pets. There is an open area with guinea pigs and rabbits, and, for a few zlotys, you can
buy some food so that you can feed them yourself. If you are lucky, you might even be
able to touch them. The bigger animals in the zoo include orangutans, which are great fun
to watch, and also a polar bear. It sometimes gets too hot for the polar bear, so they give
him a big piece of ice with frozen food in it. He loves playing with it and then eating the
food. The biggest attraction of the zoo is the Afrykarium – which contains Poland’s first
oceanarium. You can see seven species of sharks there! Wrocław Zoo is more than 150
years old but the Afrykarium is really modern! There is also the Odrarium – a special area
with the flora and fauna of the Oder River. Don’t leave it any longer! Visit Wrocław Zoo!
