Georges Remi, known by the name of Hergé, was a Belgian cartoonist. He was born on the 22nd of May 1907, in Belgium, Brussels. He started his career by contributing illustrations to an organization that supported young creators, kicking off with his first comic series, The Adventures of Totor. When he was working for a newspaper, he created The Adventures of Tintin, which is his most popular comic series, among Quick & Flupke, as well as The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko. They were drawn in his revolutionary style, which was easily recognized and adored by many. Hergé drew a few propagandistic versions of The Adventures of Tintin, so as to influence Belgian children. After the 2nd World War had ended, he had established his own magazine called Tintin, through which he continued the series and created many others. Although his works didn't go on as well as they used to, they still were the reasons for several adaptations in theatre, radio, television, cinema, and computer gaming. Even after his death at the age of 75, Hergé still is an inspiration and example for today's comic world.
