Irbis also called snow leopard -prey is a mammal of the cat family that occurs in areas of Central Asia.Snow leopard lives in the Himalays and the Tibetan plateai.It lives in forest and mountain steepes of 6.000 meters above sea level in the summer and about 600 meters above sea level in the winter.It usually resides on the border of the forests.Snow leopard leads active life during the day and at dusk.Outside the mating it usually lives alone in search of prey.Wanders within the regular hunting paths.Snow leopard sometime live in pairs.It eats birds,paultry and cattles.It moves very watchful and careful.Pregnacy lasts from 98 to 103 days.The mother arises from two to five young.They stay with their mother.Remain until one of mother reached sexual maturity.Young are born in caves or rock crevices which are linead with moss and mother's hair.Snow leopard has short feet and a long thick tail.It has cream white or gray white hair.It has black dots an its fur.They are only 4500-7000 leopard in the wild and about 200 zoos.The main threat of these animals is the local fur trade.
