 x² + 8x -3x - 24 = 42
x² + 5x - 24 - 42 = 0
       x² + 5x - 66 = 0
      
 Entonces:

  x² + 5x - 66 = 0
  x            11   ==>   (x + 11) 
  x            -6   ==>   (x - 6)

(x + 11)(x - 6) = 0

   x + 11 = 0
           x = -11    ==> Solución 1


      x - 6 = 0                                                                                                                                 x = 6      ==> Solución 2
