I am not a big fan of romantic comedies. There are three reasons for that.
First of all, I think they are not showing us the real world. In real world, everything doesn't always end right. Or in marriage. Or it ends in marriage, which turns out not to be right. In real life real people meet real problems. They are not so dramatic as in movies, but there are health problems, money problems, or just boredom that can drift a couple apart.
Secondly they are mostly based on the same pattern. A handsome boy meets a beautiful girl, they get separated, or strongly dislike each other, for half of the movie they try to date other beautiful people, and in the last 20 minutes they realise they are meant for one another. After seeing 3 romantic comedies you have seen them all. Specially, as there are mostly the same actors in them, which is the third reason...
If an actor, or actress plays in a succesful romantic comedy, he or she gets the same job over and over. It happened to Hugh Grant or Kate Hudson. And I'm going to be sick if I ever see Katherine Heigl again.
