Pomorzanie byli grupą plemienną zamieszkującą wybrzeże Morza Bałtyckiego, głównie na obszarze dzisiejszego Pomorza Zachodniego i Kujaw. Zajmowali się oni głównie rybołówstwem oraz żeglugą morską i rzeczną, dzięki czemu byli znani jako dobry i odważny lud morski.
Pomorzanie prowadzili również handel, przede wszystkim z kupcami z Europy Zachodniej, a także z krajami skandynawskimi, Rosją i Bizancjum. Byli to także doskonałymi rzemieślnikami, a ich wyroby zyskały sobie renomę na całym kontynencie.
W późniejszym okresie Pomorzanie zajmowali się także rolnictwem, a ich tereny były ważnym regionem produkującym zboże, owoce i warzywa. W XIII wieku zaczęli tworzyć własne księstwa i państwa, takie jak Księstwo Pomorskie czy Księstwo Świdwińskie, które przetrwały aż do XVIII wieku.
