Justyna Kowalczyk is my favourite athlete, who is the most outstanding woman in the history of Polish ski runners. She is the only woman from Poland, who won olimpic gold medal. In two thousand six in Turin she won bronze medal at the Olympic Games in running thirty kilometers in free technique. It was first medal for our country in this discipline. In two thousand nine in Liberec she became double champion of the world. 

In the same year she also reached the World Cup and in two thousand ten she won the
prestigious Tour de Ski. At the Olympic Games in Vancouver (beyond gold medal at the thirty kilometers in classic style) she won silver in the sprint and bronze in the combined run two times seven anf half kilometers. At the end of the season she raised up the Crystal Ball. Year later, she passed to the history for the third time in a row, triumphing in the overall World Cup and winning another Crystal Ball. For three years Justyna Kowalczyk is chosen as the best polish athlete by Przegląd Sportowy. 

She was also awarded the Cross Knight of the Order of Polonia Restituta and Polish Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta. For many years she is struggling with a knee injury, but she didn't want to take any medication which would help not only with pain but also with endurance and fitness. For me, the hard work by which she came to the very top deserves for recognition and proves her professionalism. Athletic, intelligent, nice - she is like that. This woman has proven that even though the odds we can achieve success. For the achievements like her you have to train hard for years and sometimes devote all your time to intense exercises. For me, she is the person from whom we should take an example. I support Ms. Justyna Kowalczyk with all my heart for a long time. I respect her and admire the amazing fortitude and I admire her ambition. I think that she is the person who is worthy to follow.
