Just back from a two week stay which was relaxing and in the words of the animation staff 'no stress'!. Yes there were mozzies but a lot less than in other places I've been (Egypt, Turkey)! we used a spray with 50% deet and that kept them at bay. Yes, there was some weird looking insects there but what do you expect from such a hot place with temperatures around 40 degrees! The flight was really bad as others have said, small aircraft in bad condition and very cramped, return flight was slightly better! The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of reviews have commented that is is in the middle of nowhere with nothing at all round - yes this is true but we knew this before going so wasn't a surprise at all! The animation staff work very hard, we found they could all speak good English, night time entertainment could be better although they do try hard! The food was excellent with very varied choices - yes there was a lot of fish but also much much more, I ate something different every day without having any fish at all! The room was very spacious and kept very clean. We had phone calls from reception asking us if everything was ok for us and also every few days a knock at the room door checking if everything was to our satisfaction! The grounds are beautiful and lyes the plants do need time to grow and look more developed but they haven't yet had time establish, lots of places to sit and chill and have a coffee/drink and always found tables available. The weather was wonderful, around 40 degrees every dy, there is always strong winds from the sea, some days windier than others, but with it being so hot the winds make it bearable! The pools are lovely, jacuzzi, water beds and swim up bar great and always clean and always plenty of sun beds available, although this may differ in peak periods!. The beach is spectacular, green flag was only flying twice in the two weeks but hardly the hotels fault! As stated in previous review the prices in the resort shops are extremely high, especially for toiletries and medical items so you really need to take everything you can with you - some example: 28 euros for small tube of cold sore remedy, 13 euros for can of hairspray. The price for Thomsons excursions are also ridiculously high and they really need to look at reducing the cost if they want more people to book these. We had two weeks of high quality relaxation, food, drink, met a lovely group of fellow holiday makers that we will stay in touch with and would definitely return to this resort again in the future.
