British children start school when they are five years. John is five and he goes to Infants. His sister Helen is nine and she goes to Juniors. School starts at nine o'clock a.m. and finishes at half past three p.m. At nine o'clock the pupils meet in an assembly hall. Then they go to their classroms and have lessons. In the middle of the day they have lunch break. Some children eat their lunch at the school canteen and some bring their packed lunches. At the end of the day parents come and take their children home.
