To zadanie jest na czas Past Continuous – Czas  przeszły ciągły. Używamy go w 3 sytuacjach:

- gdy czynność odbyła się w przeszłości i zajęła długi czas;

- gdy czynność odbywała się w przeszłości i została przerwana przez krótką czynność;

- gdy dwie czynności dłuższe odbywały się w przeszłości w tym samym momencie;

Konstrukcja zdania:

Osoba+WAS/WERE+czasownik –ing+ reszta zdania

WAS – osoby I, He, she, it

WERE – oboy we, you, they

Przeczenie:

WAS+NOT=WASN’T

WERE+NOT+WEREN’T

Będziemy je stawiać między osobą, a czasownikiem – ing

Pytanie:

WAS/WERE+osoba+czasownik-ing+reszta zdania?

Przykłady:

She was playing computer games yesterday evening.

She wasn’t playing computer games yesterday evening.

Was she playing computer games yesterday evening?
